Ninjhax

Ninjhax was the first exploit discovered for the 3DS, and it is still going strong today. The exploit requires of the now rare and expensive game Cubic Ninja. Since the game itself isn't very good, stores that still carry it (there aren't many) sell it for $5. You might also be able negotiate a friend who doesn't know/care about homebrew to sell it. If you really can't get it, you could also buy a sky3DS flashcart and run it from there.

Once you have the game, homebrew is really, really easy. It works on a wide variety of firmware versions, and I doubt it will ever be patched. Just follow the steps below.

1. Load up the QR code for your system version from this page.

2. Open Cubic Ninja on your 3DS, navigate to scan QR code, and scan the QR code for your system version.

At this point, you can save the exploit to your game to access homebrew offline without needing a QR code, or you can leave your save data as is (recommended if plan to use on multiple 3DS's). If you need to update the exploit for whatever reason, you can hold L+R+X+Y on the main menu to delete your save, and by extention, the exploit.

A copy of the rare Cubic Ninja.
